We stopped by here and got a couple of mixed drinks that were yummy and worth the $11 price (they are very strong). Loved the free popcorn to snack on while drinking and the beautiful location in Bar Harbor! The bar itself is small but in a cute/quaint way. Our bartender was awesome and very friendly. We really enjoyed ourselves here - I definitely recommend it if you're looking for an interesting bar in the area to get a quick drink.

Tammy is the most amazing Bar Tender ever!!! She makes the drinks extra strong and really has a high quality Level of customer service!!!! Going to Cottage Street Pub is it's own special and unique experience. I reccomend going to Cottage Street Pub when Tammy is working and you will have an absolutely amazing time. We went to Cottage Street Pub when it was pooring rain and she specifically lit the outside fire for me and my friends so we can warm up. I highly reccomemd Cottage Street Pub!!!!

Had a terrible experience with the bleached blonde hair bartender at this joint. I'm 28 years old and haven't been carded (unless a place requires it at the door) since I was 23 because I definitely (and alas, unfortunately) do not look that young. I came in here with my 65 year-old parents after a long day of hiking in the rain and was really looking forward to a drink to warm me up. She asked for my ID and I realized I didn't have it with me, so I told her my age and explained that my purse was in the car and I could go walk four blocks to get it. My parents also vouched for my age. That was when I was hoping for the sympathetic, "oh don't worry about it" response, but instead, she became extremely rude and combative, and suddenly seemed to take real personal offense, despite the fact that we weren't being aggressive with her at all. Anyway, I resigned myself to just sitting outside without a drink because my parents had already ordered and I didn't feel like walking back to the car in the rain. We were out of sight of the bar, but apparently she was still watching us like a hawk, so that as soon as I took a SIP of my mother's beer, she came out and starting yelling at us. What really ground my gears was that she was yelling at my sweet-as-can-be 65 year-old parents, who were still kind and patient with her even though she continued to treat us like we were scum. I know, the law is the law... however, by a more common-sense, down-to-earth standard, her reaction was completely unnecessary. I've never encountered a bartender who is that much of a stickler when someone who is almost 30 years old has a sip of beer at a bar, nor have I encountered anyone who would be so crass as to yell at a sweet 65 year-old couple. In conclusion, that lady is an ill-mannered drama queen, and I'm sure there are plenty of good, kind people who own businesses in Bar Harbor who deserve your money more.

Pretty standard place - however beer selection caters to locally made craft beer which is fine but the bartender should be more helpful and suggestive - I asked how the SeaDog Blueberry ale was and the bartender responded by simply stating ,"well it's blueberry" .. Wtf Anyway I got a peak organic IPA and left.

I loved Cottage St. Pub so much that after coming here for pre-dinner drinks, we came back after dinner. They have conveniently listed all the drinks & ingredients on two chalkboards behind the bar. My favorite drink was the Albert Meadow. It is strawberry-infused vodka, lemon, & bitters, and it was one of the best tasting drinks I've ever had. Later on I switched to their staple drink, the Dirty Water. It is Absolut Wild Tea, lemon, ice tea, and St. Germain. I can definitely see why it is one of their most popular drinks. Cottage St. Pub definitely has a hole in the wall vibe but it is pretty popular with the locals. Since it's so small, if you plan on hanging out there for a while and want a seat, I advise getting there a bit early!

Best bar I've come across in a long time. Extensive mixed drink selection. All the bartenders are fantastic.

It's easy to get selection fatigue in bar harbor, but this little spot is worth a visit. The bartender, Tessa, was very personable. She got our drinks ready quickly. The music selection was great (Others in the bar also commented on this). The popcorn bar snack was delicious. My friend didn't know what he wanted and she suggested a "dirty water", a vodka based drink that other reviews have touched on- it was delicious and he gives it a 5/5. This place had a hole in the wall vibe without sacrificing class or comfort. Only thing is that it nearly seems like a part of an adjacent restaurant. The sign is tiny. Why not advertise a little better?

Great local beers with unique cocktails. Wonderful service and conversation. We went during the day so it was not that busy, but I hear it is packed at night. Must stop!

Great little pub located in Bar Harbor, but slightly off the main drag making it a bit less touristy. It's quite small and I was able to snag the money seats at the little bar facing the open outdoor windows. It's also just a bar, serving no food, meaning the thousands of children on vacation with their parents in Bar Harbor aren't getting their slimy little hands all over everything. * Free popcorn. If you know me, free popcorn will always garner you a four star review. Always. The blueberry mojitos/martinis/margaritas (you can pretty much get blueberries in anything) were killer. 3 down and I was pretty much on my ass, but it was my birthday so I get to let my hair down, no? They also have a pretty kick ass beer list, so everyone's happy. Service was Maine slow, be patient. Overall, a very nice watering hole! * I do love children, I swear!

We had "dirty waters" and they were great and strong. Popcorn is a nice free snack. Also, they make a rum and coke by emptying some of a bottled coke and refilling it. That is with the old glass bottle cokes and it was terrific. I would highly recommend stopping off here to get your night started.

Simply awesome bottle list. Allagash black! Free popcorn. Kurt Vile playing (on the ipod) when I walked in. Apparently there is an awesome happy hour. I think had I rocked said happy hour this would probably be a 5. Also, no food.

Cold and rainy, but this place was cozy and welcoming after a 9 hour drive. Great cocktails, friendly staff, will be coming here every day during vacation. I cannot stress enough how amazing the cocktails are here.

After years of using Yelp without giving back, I signed up today specifically to sing about Cottage Street in Bar Harbor. The world that I live in needs more places like this one. I can't explain why it was so empty when we dropped in one recent evening, but we got a great seat and soaked up the magic that others have articulately described before us. The cocktails were lovingly prepared by a cool bartender that genuinely seemed to appreciate where she works. Shame on you Bar Harbor locals for not honoring this pub every single night - we dream of having a place like this on the island where we live (Cottage Street Pub West, anyone?)

I love drinking on vacation... But drinking on vacation at a bar that makes you feel like youre at home is an unexpected plus. For lack of a better way to put this, this bar is the one to go to. Expect to be greeted, treated like a human being, and drink amazing concoctions from a talented bartender (Tessa). I drank beer but my wife loved the house specialties. Best bar on Mt. Desert Island.

perfect cocktails, original & well balanced. tiny but hip, no food just some popcorn for snacking but would return just for the amazing cocktails, hard to find places that have perfected them like cottage st pub

Some of the friendliest staff of any bar ive been in, the drink specials list is both large and impressive (I've had every drink on both boards) great atmosphere and prices are spot on for the great quality of the drinks

This is a little, friendly bar with a fresh cocktail list and a bunch of local beers on draft. Almost every single person there seemed to be drinking Dirty Waters, but I was happy to be able to try some Bar Harbor beers. It got kinda crowded, but everyone was all cheery and chatty. Good vibes at this place!

Cottage street pub - favorite pub in town! Love the style, loved the atmosphere, loved the beer. We met some great people while enjoying a break from the busy-streets of bar harbor. My favorite of the draft options was the apple crisp. This is definitely a pub you could walk by without noticing as it is very tiny and discrete, but make sure you look for it and stop. Its wonderful!

Friendly staff, drinks were good but sit inside the outside lights and music next to dinks taxi were unbearable.

By far my favorite bar in town. Sweet vibe, teeny, tiny, with a great beer and cocktail selection. If this place was in my neighborhood, you might as well call me Norm.

The Cottage Street Pub is one of the best bars I've ever been to -- in the U.S, or elsewhere. The quality of the drinks, the selection, the staff, the customers -- all perfect! This small- town bar can hang with the best of them -- and the staff and clientele are much nicer! I give this place my highest -- and most enthusiastic -- 5-star rating!

Loved this pub! Cocktails are the specialty, though local beers on tap. Owner/tender was very hospitable, chatty, and provided unique atmosphere. Felt right at home!

I haven't written a ton of reviews, but Dale and Tessa, owners of this place deserve an amazing review! My girlfriend and I came up to Bar Harbour on a little road trip and were looking for a drink after dinner. We had some amazing drinks and I think what truly set this place apart was the laid back atmosphere, how personable they were, and on top of that, they know their stuff but aren't pretentious about it. This bar offered the exact experience I wanted. And not to mention Dale ran out after us with my GF's scarf which we forgot in all the fun! We hope to visit again soon.

One night, three friends, and a couple blueberry martinis. That's pretty much all I remember about my visit...... I jest (sort of). This is an intimate cocktail bar/pub, with an awesome cocktail menu and yummy complimentary popcorn. The bartender was very friendly and the drinks were delicious. I don't usually go for flavored martinis, I'm kind of a purest when it comes to my martinis, but these were pretty awesome; not too sweet with lots of fresh Maine blueberries in each drink.... Perhaps they were too drinkable? They were definitely strong. In addition to said blueberry martini's I also tried a drink (I forget the name) with mezcal that was smokey and wonderful, but nothing can stand up to those damn blueberry martinis. If you're in Bar Harbor this place is a must!

My best friend and I took a road trip up to Maine, memorial weekend. Typical early 20 year olds from Jersey, we love to go out and have some drinks. We by passed this place and didn't think much of it. Once I searched on Yelp, and read some pretty decent reviews, it turned out to be such an awesome place. Drinks are a reasonable price, besides the fact that they each have unique names they are delicious! I fell in love instantly, I suggest getting the Dirty Water drink!

Quaint little pub on Cottage Street. We always enjoying sitting in the main window seat, especially during tourist season. Grab a beer and some popcorn and watch all of the terrible parallel parkers. Wonderful people watching as well. Great staff. Always good for an after lunch drink.

I wish I felt better on the night we came to Cottage St Pub. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to partake in the spirits this pub offered. Why then, you might ask, the 5 stars? Well, for starters this was not your typical dive bar or tourist attraction (although they do get a lot of attraction from tourists and locals). The drinks are great...fun twists on classic cocktails. The bartender was super busy, but kept an eye in us to make sure we didn't need another. I stuck with sparking water while my significant other drank his fill in fancy, yet manly drinks. It may have been a good thing I didn't do any drinking that night because I would have easily tried every drink on the board, twice. I will have to come back to try this place again someday... Until then it'll be a fond memory of my trip up the north east coast last summer.

Well, Cottage St Pub obviously doesn't really need yet another 5 star review but it would be churlish to deny them - and seems to be my photo featured on the site. We were staying down the street, were looking to get our late afternoon vacation drink on, saw the 5star Yelp reviews and the rest is somewhat blurry. Just a great little bar - it is quite petite so you might be crowded out - serving creative drinks in an old school barkeep fashion. We had 4 of the signature cocktails and they were all delicious and properly spirituous. Remember the Maine was my first w/ a nice metallic absinthey bitterness and then some kind of hot tequila thing that also hit the right notes for me. Lots of good beers in evidence and a great crowd of local barflies and slumming tourists. Keep up the good work Cottage St and see you next time around.

By far my favorite bar in Bar Harbor!!! Tiny place and we walked in just to get a quick drink and see the score on the Alabama Football game. What a pleasant surprise when the bartender said they had illegal mezcal and he would make me his signature drink. I Love Love Loved it. I also enjoyed the shot of mezcal with the chili/worm seasoning on an orange slice. So delicious!!!!! The bartender was so nice and such a professional. Best bar in all of Maine as far as I am concerned and wishing you would move South and open one in Montgomery Alabama.

Fresh ingredients, great service, all priced right this is hands down the best place to grab a drink in Bar Harbor. They don't serve food because oh wait.. You can bring whatever type of take out you want at eat at will. This place sets the bar high for bar harbor, pun intended.. Enjoy it

This turned out to be one of my favorite spots. It was cozy and the service very good considering how busy it can get. I like the single seat bar and the huge selection of drinks. If you like more than beer, there is a ton to choose from here. Also, the popcorn is really good too. My favorite drink, Painkiller!

Fantastic corner pub run by two very down to earth, cool people. The vibe in this place makes you feel like a local instantly, and like many other spots they are dog friendly. The drinks are great, and the intimacy of the bar gets all the patrons speaking to one another. There are probably about 10 stools at the bar, 3 that look out open windows to the street, and a handful of small tables right outside. I would recommend the Caipirinha (one of the better ones I've had), Dirty Water, or any of the great local beers they have on tap. They feature a blueberry mojito which my wife really enjoyed. They don't offer food, but they have a number of menus if you'd like to order. They also have fresh popped corn which they offer on the house. We spent a number of afternoons here on during out trip. Watching the Olympics and chatting with a wide variety of people who patronize this spot. Definitely check it out if you are in town. I believe they are open from the end of May through Halloween.

Loved Cottage St Pub. Intimate space, great cocktail menu, complimentary popcorn was a treat, nice owners and it's a dog friendly establishment. While in Bar Harbor, my husband and pup enjoyed three afternoons at the Cottage St Pub. It was the perfect spot to watch the Olympics. This bar's signature cocktail is Dirty Water, which was refreshing (Absolut Wild Tea, St Germain, lemon, iced tea). The blueberry mojito was also a nice treat, sweet, but not too syrupy (blueberries in season when we visited), the Caipirinha was tasty (and potent) and the Snarge quenched my thirst (white rum, cranberry/grapefruit/pineapple juice). Other interesting cocktails included: Death in the Afternoon (Absinthe and Champagne - - apparently Hemingway drank 4 every afternoon while writing in Paris); Pain Killer (Pussers Rum, Coco Lopez, Orange/Pineapple and nutmeg); Ward 8 (Rye Whiskey, Orange/Lemon and Pom Syrup) I'd definitely recommend it as a must visit, while in town.

This place has killer soul. Dale is a great bartender. Kind of looks like Chandler Bing. Excellent beer menu. Great service. Free popcorn. Nice windowless bar view of the street for a lucky couple. Dogs come in and get treats. Just a really cool place. Unfortunately, it was cold and rainy on the day my wife and I were there, but we sat at the window anyway just because of how unique the experience is. A lot of people from the whale-watching tour were in there so we got to talking about other local places, and the vibe was that Cottage Street was the best. We tended to agree. My wife said that if we lived in Bar Harbor, this would be our daily hangout. Met a lot of great people. Real friendly atmosphere, everyone is cool to each other, and the beer is cold. What more can you ask for? Well, besides free popcorn. Oh. Wait. They have that too.
